HELLO, I AM
ANDREA GAGE-MICHAELS
ABOUT ANDREA
I knew that my life would be dedicated to helping others from a very young age. In fact, my grandfather, an attorney, had me pegged as a lawyer from the age of 10. Prior to following in his footsteps, I had the incredible opportunity to represent the best interests of others and help them make informed decisions through working as a broadcast journalist, public relations professional, and elected official.
Interviewing people in need of legal help inspired me to enroll at Marquette University, where I earned a J.D. and a Masters in Dispute Resolution. I worked full-time through school, first in media relations, and then for a state senator, where I helped pass a sweeping drunk driving reform package and helped enact laws curbing predatory practices by payday lenders.

After law school, I worked as a regional director for the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin and for the State Bar of Wisconsin, where I helped educate the community about the court system. During my time at the State Bar, I was also elected to the Sun Prairie City Council, where I served from 2013 to 2015.
While I really enjoyed debating my fellow alders on City Council, my favorite part of the job was working directly with constituents, many of whom were seniors. I moved to Northeast Wisconsin to work for the Elder Rights Project at Legal Action of Wisconsin. As managing attorney, I represented elder victims of crime as they worked to stabilize their lives, live independently, and meet their emotional and physical needs.
I consider my work with elders to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. That is why I have launched my own law practice helping seniors navigate crisis Medicaid planning, mediation, and family law issues such as legal separations, divorce, and restraining orders. I also serve on the Alzheimer's Association Wisconsin Board of Directors.
When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my husband and stepkids, doting on my niece, and playing with our miniature schnauzers, Walter Mitty and Jackson Montgomery.
